Hickman Bridge forms a natural frame overlooking sandstone domes on a sunny afternoon in Capitol Reef National Park.
Standing approximately 125 feet high and spanning 133 feet, this natural feature is one of the premiere landmarks in Capitol Reef. Its name commemorates Joseph Hickman, a local educator and legislator whose efforts helped lead to the creation of the park in 1937. If you go, bring plenty of water! The hike is short, but steep, and daytime temps soared nearly into the nineties on the day I was here.
